(Lewis, Iowa) – Firefighters from Lewis & Griswold responded early this (Wednesday) morning to a reported, possible residential fire, south of Lewis. The incident occurred at 57076 Lewis Road, at around 3:30-a.m. Griswold Fire Chief J-C Wyman was first on the scene. He said a lightning strike was apparently to blame.
No one was injured. Wyman described the firefighting efforts.
Severe storms had rumbled through the area late Tuesday night and early this (Wednesday) morning. Chief Wyman said fortunately, the damage to the home was minimal.
Crews were on the scene for about 2-hours.
